About the role
The Sanitation Technician II is a key member of Synear's food safety infrastructure, responsible for executing master sanitation schedules, deep-cleaning production equipment, and upholding the hygiene standards that protect both our consumers and our brand. This is not a routine janitorial role — it requires specialized knowledge of food-grade chemicals, CIP (Clean-In-Place) systems, allergen management, and regulatory compliance in a USDA/FDA-regulated facility. This role works closely with Quality Assurance and Production leadership as a trusted guardian of plant hygiene.

- Execute daily and periodic Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) tasks including pre-operational, operational, and post-operational cleaning of production lines, processing equipment, and facility areas
- Perform CIP and COP (Clean-Out-of-Place) procedures on high-care equipment such as filling machines, mixing tanks, conveyor systems, and portioning equipment
- Mix, dilute, and apply approved USDA-compliant chemical sanitizers and cleaning agents in correct concentrations; verify effectiveness using titration and ATP swab testing
- Conduct allergen changeover cleaning between product runs to prevent cross-contact; document all procedures in compliance with FSMA Preventive Controls
- Perform and record pre-operational environmental monitoring swabs (Listeria spp., APC, coliform panels) and escalate any findings per corrective action procedures
- Assist QA during 3rd-party audits (SQF, customer audits) by maintaining accurate sanitation logs and demonstrating knowledge of cleaning protocols on demand
- Inspect, maintain, and report deficiencies in sanitation equipment (pressure washers, foam applicators, squeegees, color-coded tools)
